Quickplay is a mode where the player can freely battle any radiated monster of their choosing at any level in their level range. In this mode, the player can earn a high score for each monster's level based on how many motes they collect from the battle. By earning high scores, the player can level up this mode to unlock Quickplay upgrades that expand this mode's functionalities. The player can use any of their radiated Power Gifts to help them in each battle, but only up to a limited amount before their score is reduced. The higher the monster's level, the more gifts can be equipped before the player receives a score penalty. Gifts that give panic attacks will also cause a score penalty if the player equips too many.

Players can create a list of gifts to be used in each battle, which can then be saved to loadout slots for easier access. Initially, only monsters with levels 1-3 can be battled, but the player can spend tetrids to upgrade Quickplay's functionalities, leading to higher available levels, additional loadout slots, and more.

Ultra Quickplay

Ultra Quickplay is a variation of Quickplay where players can battle monsters beyond their normal level limits. Each level beyond a monster's normal limit will increase either their maximum fear, their bullet speed, or the damage of their bullets. This allows the player to earn higher scores than would be normally possible in standard Quickplay. Every 1000 motes collected beyond a monster's radiant medal goal will earn an extra sublime medal upon victory. Unlike standard Quickplay, beating a monster's level will mark all levels below it as completed.

Upgrades

Players can spend tetrids to increase their abilities in Quickplay. As the player earns higher scores and increases their Quickplay rank, more upgrades will be made available for them. Upgrades can be purchased multiple times until they reach their maximum rank. Below is a list of available upgrades.

  • Battle Level: Increases the maximum battle level in Quickplay by 1 per rank, up to 13.
  • Ultra Level: Increases the maximum battle level in Ultra Quickplay by 1 per rank.
  • Gift Rank: Increases the maximum possible gift rank players can use, up to 3.
  • Power Stars: Increases the maximum amount of gift slots players have. This does not change the limit before any score penalty is applied for each level, and higher gift ranks occupy more slots.
  • Loadout Slots: Increases the amount of gift loadouts the player can save.
  • Duplicate Gifts: Allows the player to equip two of the same power gift in each loadout.
  • Panic Limit: Raises the score reduction limit from panic attack gifts.
  • Power Limit: Raises the score reduction limit from equipped power gifts.

Freeplay

Freeplay is a variation of Quickplay where players can battle any radiated monster at any level using any of their radiated power gifts. Unlike standard Quickplay, none of Freeplay's levels are locked behind upgrades and both blessings and burdens can be used in addition to standard Quickplay gifts, but no dreams or tetrids are rewarded for winning a battle.

Tips

  • Quickplay is useful for collecting Motes of a single color. By fighting specific kinds of monsters repeatedly in this mode, players can collect many of their kind's motes, which can be spent on any card that only needs that tetrid's color to be radiated.
  • To earn a high score (and the highest quality of medal) for each monster in Quickplay, it is recommended to avoid taking any damage while maintaining a full combo for the entire battle, as well as breaking as many of the monster's parts as possible before defeating them.
  • Quickplay is the most optimal method to achieve monster-specific Dreams that are not required to be completed in Story Mode.
