Rendy

Most Zaraden have an irrational fear of mites. It only takes a moment to realize that Rendy only chases after you if she wants cuddles.

Rendy is a monster of the Guardian family. Her alternate form is Shiny Rendy.

Appearance

Rendy is a lime green mite which is larger than most mites due to her being a guardian. Rendy has five dark blue eyes on the front of her head, alongside three spiracles above them. On the sides of her head she has two pairs of horns. She has four legs around her body. In battle, Rendy will also have dark blue armor on each of her legs.

Personality

Rendy never uses pronouns to refer to herself, instead always speaking in the third person. Rendy is very enthusiastic about cuddles, and will often try to get them from the Zaraden. She will show off her digging skills in an attempts to get more cuddles as well.

Attacks/Strategy

If you can break her explosive eggs fast enough they will not explode or release any Burn bullets.

Rendy leaps backwards, causing Toxic bullets to come out of the ground. Two types of bullets will appear: some that are affected by gravity and will fall, and those which will rise to the top of the screen at a constant rate. Less bullets will appear for each broken leg armor. More rising bullets appear on higher levels (none on lv1). This will always occur when Rendy finishes an attack after going far enough towards the left side of the screen or if the heart is behind her between attacks, and does not affect attack selection.
Rendy lays several shooting eggs. This can be used on any level. More eggs are laid and they're laid faster every level.
Rendy fires several Toxic bullets in a spiral pattern. This can be used on lv1-2. It lasts longer and bullets are faster every level.
Rendy fires bullets in two spiral patterns going in opposite directions. This can be used on lv3-4. It lasts longer and bullets are faster every level.
Rendy fires a pattern of Toxic bullets which resembles a spider's web. This can be used on lv2-4. It fires faster, lasts longer, and bullets have more speed every level.
Rendy lays several explosive eggs. This can be used on any level. More eggs are laid and they're laid faster every level.
Rendy releases bursts of Toxic bullets in a circular pattern. Each burst will be slightly offset from the last. This can only be used on lv1.
Rendy rapidly releases several bursts of Toxic bullets in circular patterns. This can only be used on lv4.
Rendy lays a combination of explosive and shooting eggs. This can be used on any level. More eggs are laid and they're laid faster every level.

General

• Each of Rendy's 4 legs will have a piece of armor that can take up to 25% (325 base) of Rendy's fear in damage.
  • The armor has 50% damage reduction, as such the resultant overall love from breaking each piece will be 12.5% (163 base) of Rendy's fear.
  • Destroying at least two pieces of leg armor will allow shots to reach laid eggs sooner.

• Rendy lays a combination of destructible blue and green eggs.
  • Blue eggs will explode into a burst of Burn bullets. More bullets are fired and they gain speed every level. Explosive eggs destroyed by shots will not explode.
  • Green eggs will periodically release Toxic bullets that travel upwards and to the left at the same speed as the egg. More bullets are fired and they gain speed every level. The bullets spread apart at lv4.
    • Both types of eggs will have 1.85% (24 base) of Rendy's fear in health.
  • All eggs count as breakable projectiles, they will immediately break from a panic and hitting them does not affect Rendy's fear.

Event: Rendy's Buried Treasure

"Rendy needed my help finding her buried treasure. She told me that she couldn't remember where she buried it, but I think that was just an excuse to be around me and show off her digging skills. I hope one day she understands that she doesn't need an excuse to do that."

Rendy's Buried Treasure is a Treasure Event where Rendy will request the current Zaraden to help her determine where she buried some of her treasure by looking in her dreams. Accepting this event will result in a special chapter with a single battle against Shiny Rendy. After the battle, the Zaraden will get up to 3 bonus gifts based on their mote score. This event can only occur when Rendy has been loved in a story run. Like all other treasure events, Rendy's Buried Treasure cannot occur if another treasure event has happened in a run.

Relationships

Rendy is very friendly towards the Zaraden, always attempting to get more cuddles out of them.

Trivia

• During April Fools, her name is changed to Randy. This references a common misspelling of her name.
• During Halloween, her name is changed to The Mascot. This references Rendy's popularity within the community, turning her into the unofficial mascot of the game.
