Frostmites are not usually found this far from the snow. This queen frostmite may have been abandoned here when the others migrated. Or maybe she chose to stay.

Snowball is a monster of the Guardian family. Her alternate form is Shiny Snowball.

Appearance

Snowball is a large frostmite similar in appearance to Rendy, but is white in color. As a Guardian, Snowball is significantly bigger than other mites. Like other mites, she has a large main body connected to four legs. She has a singular large eye which is maroon in color, and three spiracles on the front of her head. She also has a larger hole on top of her head. She also has three pairs of horns that are on the sides of her head as well. In dreams, Snowball will also have additional armor around her legs, which is a similar maroon color to her eye.

Personality

Snowball speaks in a regal tone, and uses the royal we to refer to herself when around others. She practices her speeches in an effort to impress the Zaraden, often in attempts to get more cuddles. Snowball uses various titles to refer to herself as well, including Her Majesty, Queen of Frostmites, and Snowball the First.

Attacks/strategy

Breaking her leg armor will reduce the power of her stomps. This means that less bullets will come out of the cold liquid below.

Snowball leaps backwards, causing Ice ( Radiant & Void) bullets to come out of the ground. Two types of bullets will appear: some that are affected by gravity and will fall, and those which will rise to the top of the screen at a constant rate. Less bullets will appear for each broken leg armor. More rising bullets appear on higher levels. This will always occur when Snowball finishes an attack after going far enough towards the left side of the screen or if the heart is behind her between attacks, and does not affect attack selection.
Snowball shoots large Ice bullets that are aimed at the heart. This can be used on lv7-9. It fires faster, lasts longer, and bullets have more speed every level.
Snowball lays bouncy eggs. This can be used on lv7-8. More eggs are laid and they're laid faster every level.
Snowball launches bouncy eggs. This can be used on lv7-8. More eggs are launched and they're launched faster every level.
Snowball launches or lays bouncy eggs at random. This can be used on lv9-10. More eggs are fired and they're fired faster every level.
Snowball erratically launches explosive eggs. This can be used on any level. More eggs are launched and they're launched faster every level.
Snowball lays four explosive eggs. This can only be used on lv7.
Snowball lays several explosive eggs and shoots large Ice bullets that are aimed at the heart. This can be used on lv8-10. It fires faster and lasts longer every level.
Snowball erratically shoots Ice bullets from the top of her head that are affected by gravity towards the left side of the screen. If the heart goes behind Snowball she will aim the bullets towards the right side. This can be used on any level. It fires faster and lasts longer every level.
Snowball shoots a pattern of Ice bullets that look like a spider’s web, with small gaps in the formation. She also shoots large Ice bullets at the heart. This can be used on lv8-10. It fires faster, lasts longer, and bullets have more speed every level.
Snowball shoots a spider web's pattern with a lower density and launches two bouncy eggs. This can only be used on lv10.

General

• Each of Snowball's 4 legs has a piece of armor that can take up to 25% (325 base) of Snowball's fear in damage.
  • The armor has 50% damage reduction, as such the resultant overall love from breaking each piece will be 12.5% (163 base) of Snowball's fear.
  • Destroying at least two pieces of leg armor will allow shots to reach laid eggs sooner.

• Snowball may lay or throw destructible white or maroon eggs.
  • White eggs are affected by gravity. These eggs bounce, and leave a trail of Ice bullets in their wake. The bullets disappear after two seconds.
  • Maroon eggs explode after a few seconds into a burst of Burn bullets. More bullets are fired and they gain speed every level.
    • Bouncy eggs and laid explosive eggs have 1.85% (24 base) of Snowball's fear in health.
  • Thrown explosive eggs explode after they hit the liquid or a wall into a burst of Burn bullets.
    • Thrown explosive eggs have 1.23% (16 base) of Snowball's fear in health.
  • Explosive eggs destroyed via shots will not explode.
  • All eggs count as breakable projectiles, they will immediately break from a panic and hitting them does not affect Snowball's fear.

Event: The Royal Treasure

Snowball needed my help remembering where she buried her royal treasure. I don't think I helped very much since nothing in her dreams made any sense. She has gifts buried all over the place, so it's probably just a lucky guess every time we find anything.

The Royal Treasure is a Treasure Event where Snowball will approach the current Zaraden, hoping to figure out the location of buried treasure in a dream. Accepting this event will result in a special chapter with a single battle against Shiny Snowball. After the battle, the Zaraden will get up to 3 bonus gifts based on their mote score. This event can only occur when Snowball has been loved in a story run. Like all other treasure events, The Royal Treasure cannot occur if another treasure event has happened in a run.

Relationships

Snowball is fond of the Zaraden, referring to them as 'her most royal thermostat' and 'the curator of slumber' in her memories.

Trivia

• During April Fools, her name is changed to Deadly Queen. This references a stand from the anime Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
• During Halloween, her name is changed to The Empress. This references the Major Arcana of the same name.
• The dream "Don't let it go" is likely a reference to the song "Let it go" from the Disney movie Frozen.
